The NCAR Library website redesign.
The NCAR Library had a static 3 or 4 page site with very outdated information and largely composed of a 'link farm' to other information. The new library director wanted something much more dynamic to showcase the most used library assets, with dynamic news and information and methods for users to submit questions or requests.
The new site was designed to showcase often-used library assets, including the creation of a MySQL e-journals database that the reference librarian could maintain via a browser and that users could easily search. Easy popup forms were accessible where users are likely to have questions that send requests to the current librarian on duty. New arrivals were showcased in real-time as they were entered into the database and users could send "hold requests" on interesting items.
