2009 Drupal-based Site

The Work

Screenshot of NCAR Drupal homepageNew Drupal-based website for the National Center for Atmospheric Research.

I designed and developed this Drupal-based site in 2009 to replace the 2007 version of the NCAR site that I developed in PHP, MySQL.  This Drupal template  also serves as the organization-wide template for NCAR's Drupal-based development, which is currently underway.

It features a custom-designed interface with multiple dynamic regions that expand-contract-disappear depending on usage.  I implemented the jQuery UI to provide interactive accordion and tabbed block regions of related content that invited further exploration of the site.  The feature area at the top of the front page is a custom view I created to dynamically showcase the latest feature story and provide thumbnail access for the previous three stories.  I used the Sections module and subtheming to create subgroup sections of the site that provided a related, but unique look and feel for each.  And finally, I created a number of unique content types and views that were role-restricted to various content managers.
